Halloween Fun

We had a lot of fun this Halloween! I was the mother of Little Red Riding Hood and a Mr. Penguin for the day. With the help of my wonderful mother-in-law, we made Emily a cape that turned out oh so cute!!! And also with the help of my fab sister-in-law Caleb was the cutest penguin I have ever seen! We went to Ben's Grandparent's house and had dinner in a pumpkin and snake bites--it was Yummo!!! And then came the candy. We went trunk or treating and saw a lot of fun, scary and even some pretty risque costumes (mind you this is at a church trunk or treat) I believe the risque ones just saw free candy and stopped on by. But we had lots of fun and I can't wait till next year. Emily has already told me she wants to be Wendy and Caleb is going to be Peter Pan. So cute!!!

So are the Days of Our Lives.....

We have been busy lately. Ben's family came to visit last week and it has been alot of fun being with them. We are even lucky to have his Mom with us for 2 more weeks. She is so much help and we appreciate her alot! Emily cries alot during the day for "Gramma Sheri". We are also lucky to have a Great Great Grandma in our family. We took some 5 generation pictures and it was fun to see us all together. I have also been using my handy Canon Rebel for some quick pics. My poor kids, I torture them (well not really but sometimes they think so).

Isn't she funny! She makes me laugh so hard sometimes.

She is also such a good big sister! All she has to do is look at Caleb and he grins from ear to ear!

***********

Today I needed some fresh air and it was such a beautiful day I couldn't help but enjoy it! We went to my Piano Lessons and then to the store. While I was waiting for a prescription to be filled we took a stroll in the park. Caleb slept the whole time but Emily and I swung on the swings and went on the slides and sang songs. We have fun together!!!!

7 Months Old

Today my sweet little baby is 7 months old. He is growing up too fast...as everyone says when they have a new baby! I thought I would write about all of his favorite things: EMILY!!! He loves her! All she has to do is look at him and he giggles. He loves to chew on everything! He even has 3 teeth and 1 coming through. He is such a good eater and eats most everything. His recent favorite is pumpkin bread!! YUMMO! He loves his bathes and will bath forever. He loves his Mommy which makes it hard sometimes, but deep inside I love that he loves me!! He loves his grandpas. He loves his Johnny Jumper. The other day he fell asleep in it and was still jumping, it was extra cute!! He also loves to smile and flirt, no matter who it is. He is such a good boy...spoiled but good! We are still working on the sleeping but I know patience is a virtue!! :) We love you little Cabie and we are so glad you came to our family 7 short months ago!!
Here are some pictures I took today...

Its the end of the world as we know it

So with the Economy going to Hades, we decided it was time to finally be more obedient and stock up on our food storage. Ben is going full force and has done alot to make sure we are stocked up for a year supply of food. We are not finished yet, we still have quite a few things left to buy, but we are on our way.

So far we have:
325 lbs. Hard cracked Wheat
100 lbs. Rice
150 lbs. Quick oats
325 lbs. flour
30 lbs. honey
175 lbs. sugar
75 lbs. beans
3.5 Gallons veg. oil
24 cans evap. milk
24 + cans veggies
24 cans tuna
3 Gal. Clorox
12 cans Spagetti sauce
4 boxes Non-fat instant milk
48 boxes of jello and pudding
4 bottles ketcup
5 Gal. Laundry Detergant
25 lbs. Instant Potato Flakes
Water
100 lbs. potatoes
5 lbs. peanut butter
40 Cans of cream soup
Panake and Cake mixes
Ramen Noodles---so easy and cheap
We also took a trip to the Army Surplus store and started getting stuff for 72 hour kits. We have a long way to go yet. We are working on it though. So I guess we can all learn that procrastination is bad! I am the worst, but working on it! :)

This had nothing to do with Food Storage, but I thought I would throw it in because Caleb was being cute in his bouncer. He looks like a little frog and acts like one too. He is so much fun and is getting so big. He eats everything and can almost crawl instead of just army scoot. I love my little man!

Let's go Fly A Kite

Last Saturday we finally found a kite for Emily. She loves to watch Mary Poppins and has always wanted to fly a kite. We searched a couple of stores and finally found a couple at Kings in Shelley---good ole Kings! Emily was so afraid we were going to let go that she screamed most of the time. But that was okay because Ben had fun seeing how high he could let it go without losing it. He is just like a little kids sometimes, I love it!!

Here is a picture of the roses sent me for our anniversary---I thought they were beautiful. Funny story though....When the lady brought them to me she asked me to sign the paper. While signing she asked "What is the occasion" I answered it is my 4th year wedding anniversary." (Keep in mind that I was still in my pjs, no make-up and I had 2 children screaming in the background) and then smiled and added "and now 4 years and 2 children later here we are..." She answered by glaring at me and said "You don't want to hear my story" and while storming away from my front porch she yelled "You have it good!" I was left in awe!! Where the heck did that come from. My sister and I came up with many reasons why she could be so bitter. Maybe she was going through a bad divorce because her husbannd never sent her flowers, yet her occupation happened to be a florist delivery person. So to that poor florist delivery person I wish to say "Thanks for the flowers and for filling my day full of sunshine!"

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.

Today is our 4th Year Anniversary so I wanted to tell Ben how much I love and appreciate him. He is such a wonderful husband and father. I have never known anyone with so much patience. Ben comes home from work and is my hero, he rescuses me from the frustrations of life and always can make me laugh or smile. He is my strength and such a great example to me.
We have gone through some of the most exciting times together and have so many fun memories together and we aren't about to stop! Some of the things we have done are: we have visited Rhode Isalnd, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Illinios, Missouri, Virginia, Maryland, and Montana (this doesn't include the many states we have had to fly into to get to those states). Each of these states also has it's own set of memories to go with it. We have had 2 children in the past 4 years and have bought our own home. I am so proud of our accomplishments!
